Change is the new normal: goetzpartners launches the digital event series DEX

PRESS RELEASE

Munich, July 12, 2018 –  With its first digital executives roundtable, the advisory firm goetzpartners has launched a series of conferences that will explore future challenges and key issues of the digitalized world. The DEX series is a platform for all digital managers who are leading their companies through a business world that is being rocked by disruptive change. Yesterday’s DEX #1 in Munich focused on strategies that will yield success on the path of digital development and ways that companies can carry them out.

“Companies are facing a range of digital challenges that present different opportunities for success,” said Niels-Christian Krüger, a Partner and Head of Digital at goetzpartners. “This cross-industry dialog on best practices and upcoming trends offers clear advantages for companies’ efforts to position their business operations ideally for the future.”

Professor Dr. Kai Reinhardt of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences provided the 40  participants in DEX #1 with an overview of expert skills that will be needed to successfully manage digital change. Reinhardt said, “Agility by itself is no guarantee for survival in the digital world. Smart organizational development and strategic expertise management will be the critical factors in the future.” Thomas Davies, the CEO of Temporall, picked up on this topic and showed how the digital transformation can be actively shaped by using the right company culture and how investment in the corresponding values can be developed profitably. The former Google Sales Director pointed out, “Only very few companies effectively use culture to drive business performance. However, our findings show that value-based decisions lead to sustainable transformational benefits, especially in the face of a transient business world.” Philipp Karmires, CDO of the Linde Group, offered further ideas for the group by presenting his programmatic approach to digitalization and clearly defining the role of the digital manager during the subsequent discussion, “If you want to make the leap to becoming a digitalized company, you need sparring partners who can help turn ideas into new products and services at high speed or develop new digital business models. And transformation requires a kind of moderation that is closely tied to innovation culture.”

For a long time now, digitalization has been more than just the introduction of new work methods or technologies; instead, it needs to be integrated into all organizational areas. The digital age has already begun for industrial companies. The key to the development of future business models will be the networking of plants, processes and production. With this focus in mind, the next conference in the DEX series in September will explore the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Well-known speakers from academia, the world of start-ups and established industrial companies will address two core questions: Why should companies bet on IIoT? And how can they implement effective networking strategies? During live demonstrations, participants will be able to see just how IIoT can be used in the real world.
